STANDING RULES OF THE AUSTIN SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCE SOCIETY
ARTICLE I ñ MEMBERSHIP
| Section 1. | Classes of The Society shall be open to the general public. |
ARTICLE II ñ BOARD OF DIRECTORS
| Section 1. | The President shall enter into contractual obligations on behalf of The Society. |
| Section 2. | The Secretary shall maintain a membership list that includes the name, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of each member. |
| Section 3. | The Secretary shall maintain correspondence with The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, including transmittal of required funds for affiliation. |
| Section 4. | Disbursement of funds in excess of $250.00 shall require the signatures of the President and Treasurer. |
| Section 5. | Teachers may be granted emeritus status at the discretion of the Board of Directors. |
ARTICLE III ñ TEACHING COMMITTEE
| Section 1. | The Society shall pay the annual dues for the Teachers' Association (Canada) for teachers who are actively teaching for The Society or who have been granted emeritus status by The Society. |
| Section 2. | The Society shall, for insurance purposes, pay annual dues to the Texas International Folk Dancers for teachers who are actively teaching for the Society. |
| Section 3. | The Society shall pay for continuing education for each teacher who is actively teaching for The Society. Annual continuing education expenses for each teacher shall not exceed $500.00. |
ARTICLE IV ñ STANDING COMMITTEES
| Section 1. | The standing committees, in addition to the Teaching Committee, shall be the Publicity Committee, Ball Committee, and Social Committee. |
| Section 2. | The Publicity Committee shall publicize and promote The Society and its events. |
| Section 3. | The Ball Committee shall organize the annual Ball. |
| Section 4. | The Social Committee shall organize dance socials and after parties. |
ARTICLE V ñ MEETINGS
| Section 1. | Meetings of The Society shall be run in accordance with the copy of Robert's Rules of Order owned by The Society. |
