| 1-4 | 1s cross over giving HR then cast off to 2nd place on opposite sides; 2s step up on 3-4 |
| 5-8 | 1s and 2s dance RHA half way round, then joining hands on the sides set to partner |
| 9-16 | 1s and 2s dance rights and lefts. On bars 15-16 1M and 2@ and at the same time 1W and 2M turn with LH to end with women in center RSh to RSh |
| 17-24 | The Targe – danced as follows17-18 1W & 2W turn ¾ with RH while 1M & 2M dance anti-clockwise round them for a quarter of a circle |
| 19-20 | 1M & 2W and 1W & 2M turn once round with LH |
| 21-22 | 1W & 2W turn ¾ with RH while 1M & 2M dance anti-clockwise round them for a quarter of a circle |
| 23-24 | 1M & 2W and 2M & 1W turn ¾ with LH to finish on the sides, 1s facing up and 2s facing down |
| 25-28 | 1M sets to 2W while 1W sets to 2M, then 1s and 2s set to partner |
| 29-32 | 1s lead up between 2s crossing over, then cast off into 2nd place on own sides |
| Repeat having passed a couple. |
